English countrysides

There's something so english so clean and clear. Jagged and rough but green and natural about the countryside of England.

I just cant quite decide what it is. Its the train, the undisturbed ambience, the undecided sky, to become pale grey or baby blue, peachy or pinky sunset.

Its the sun peeking out of the clouds, shining upon the small stone-bricked houses. The meadows tainted with sheep that are ridiculously healthy and cute.

Its the groups of trees that grow in flocks, dabbed here and there. The lines of streamy rivers, slow, rocky and cool. The stone hedges. That separates god knows what.

The occasional train stops along Leeds National Park. Its the most beautiful countryside I have ever seen. Something that mystifies me, leaves me in awe and in silence. Something about the hills, so gentle and soft.

How can something so amazing be overlooked? And underappreciated? Beauty is really from Allah. And I can tell, in this rural rural area full with englishmen,  sheep and cattle, there might be no muslims on the land but the love and mercy of Allah knows no boundries.

Work

bismillah.

Allah.. God..

Its 7.11pm and I'm done for the day.

I kinda promised my ex to write down my top lists of being-single-perks. Ahhaa.. does sounds wrong in some ways but he just broke up and I sort of have to give him this list to cheer him up? Anyway, it
reminds me to cheer up as well but that's not what I want to talk about here..

So.. work.

I used to look at my aunt, (the hate-love relationship aunt) as a person who is highly successful but a workaholic, its a danger to her health. Sometimes she puts off, no. She puts off so many other things for work; except family. That includes some.. religious stuff. I dont know.. that's her belief. But I strongly disagree with her ways and I sort of hate the way she works. So when I come across people who have work principles like, working on weekends, or working late nights to the point that you just don't have your own time, when I come across these kind of people, I just.. feel repulsive.

But here I am, in Glasgow, working on weekends, working almost 10 hours per day and it hits me; why these people work so hard. maybe, just maybe, that's all they have. Like, I'm here, I don't have to answer to anyone besides Allah's call for solat, and maybe some coffee or ice cream dates which happens like.. twice a month? But besides that, I work. Because I don't have anything else.

The other thing I figured out was.. maybe people work so hard because they just want to forget things. Like painful stuff. Or forget about being lonely. I know I do. I think about work when I'm at work and then my head goes into this over thinking-state like, am I supposed to work this hard? I never worked this hard in my entire life and I don't know if this is a good or a bad thing. So, people who work hard, over-work, workaholics, you now have my new found respect.

Well, there's also this other reason why people work hard. And that is the only logical reason I could think off, that is to be successful, to earn good money so that they can support family stuff and such. That, is another reason, one which I always forget. I have this ultimatum; to be a doctor before my youngest brother becomes an adult. So that he won't pester my dad or mom for money to buy comics or top-up money or money for gas. And I'm 25, if I do a phd straight away, I might get away with a doctorate, a decent job by the time I'm 29.

So.. being single perks? working. I mean, you can't work 24/7 and have a guy to answer to. If you love work too much you can't have someone pestering you all the time.

I love what I'm doing right now, I can't be bothered to answer text messages all the time, but it sure would be nice to have those ice-cream/coffee dates more frequent than twice a month.
